Where are Our Beaches Going?

Ahhh … the good ole days!

Some of us may even remember being here back then. Maggie & I do – at least back in 1965, when we came down for a project at the RCA computer factory in North Palm Beach.

Not quite the same today … and this is after dumping tons and tons of sand in attempts to preserve it.

The story is complicated and scary, and involves conflicts among environmental concerns, including turtles, and property protection folks, as well as a lack of enthusiasm for providing funding among the Federal, State, County and City governments.

What’s Happening with the Vacant Lot?

The one at Lake Dr and Blue Heron!

For years – literally – Palm Beach Shores residents have been asking that question. And the answer they have gotten is that we don’t have much to say about it, since the lots are outside the Town limits and controlled by Riviera Beach.

In November, the developer provided its answer to what it would like to build, and it certainly fulfills our dreams nightmares …

If you get far enough away, you can’t even tell that it is 30 stories, and the drawings don’t show the size of the shadow it casts at sunset.

It is highly unlikely a more modest structure will be mandated, so this is probably what we can expect after a few years of construction traffic and noise.

Annual Meeting 2026

The Oceanview Condominium Annual Meeting will be held on Saturday, March 14th in the first floor “Happy Hour” area starting at 9:00 AM.

This is the third year in which the budget had to be adopted before the first of the year, and thus the amount of the operating dues and reserve contributions has already been established and has been communicated to all of the owners.

We would normally be electing five Board Members from among the owners, but because Florida now requires all Board Members to complete a 4-hour training session , interest to serve has waned quite a bit.

As a result, we had only five owners declare their intent to serve for the five positions. Thus, Rae Jean Govier, Chris Shea, Scott Shea, David Sullivan, and Kelly Sullivan will continue as the 2026 Board of Directors.

We will review the budget and reserves, plans for major projects in 2026, and matters of interest to owners at the meeting.

Please communicate any annual meeting agenda topics to the Treasurer or President in time to be included in the meeting.

Welcome back for the 2026 Season

Annual Meeting 2025

The Oceanview Condominium Annual Meeting will be held at 9AM on Saturday, March 15th, 2025 in the first floor walkway (“happy hour” area).

This is the second year in which the budget had to be adopted before the first of the year, and thus the amount of the operating dues and reserve contributions has already been established and has been communicated to all of the owners.

As usual, we will be electing five Board Members from among the owners, and as usual, persons interested in serving must communicate their interest to either the Treasurer, Chris Shea, or the President, Dave Sullivan, before the 7th of February. Florida now requires all Board Members to complete a 4-hour training session (which can be done online) before July 1st.

Please communicate any annual meeting agenda topics to the Treasurer or President in time to be included in the meeting.

Welcome back for the 2025 Season

Looks Great!

Thanks to Jack & Richard, the place is looking really, really good.

We have new grass front and back, which is going very nicely thanks to our summer rains …

and Jack directed the construction of a new barbecue area with bricks coordinated with the Oceanview color scheme tying together the new table & chairs, grill, and sidewalk.  No more having to walk through wet grass to get to your steaks.
